MINIs in the Mountains

 

Ralph Schomp is proud to be the title sponsor of the 7th annual Minis in the Mountains event August 2nd-5th in Winter Park Resort, Colorado. Winter Park located in the mountains west of Denver, about 60 miles via Interstate 70 and US-40. Previous MITM events have been hosted in Copper Mountain Resort (Colorado) and Winter Park Resort.

MITM is a nationally-recognized MINI Cooper automobile enthusiast event, founded, organized and staffed by members of the local Denver (Front Range) MINI Cooper club MINI5280.org.

Planned MITM 2012 activities include:

  • Organized rides (drives) to area attractions and landmarks via paved, curvy mountain highways
  • Autocross for MINI Coopers (including the Classic Mini) only
  • NUF! Car Show (that's FUN!, spelled backwards)
  • Group Photo - pack as many MINIs, drivers and passengers into a panoramic photo as possible
  • Numerous Winter Park Resort summer activities for the whole family
  • Vendors offering MINI-specific and other products of interest to the MINI enthusiast

Wednesday, Aug. 1

  • 2 PM - 5 PM: Registration and Vendor Area Setup
  • 5 PM - 7 PM: Informal Brew Swap - Parking Garage Upper Deck

Thursday, Aug. 2

  • 7 AM - 4 PM: Car Wash Open
  • 9 AM - 3 PM Registration Check-in
  • 8 AM - 5 PM Vendor Area Open
  • 10 AM - 4 PM: Long Course Group Ride
  • 2 PM - 4 PM: Short Course Group Ride
  • 5 PM - 9 PM: MITM Parade to Hideaway Park and Concert

Friday, Aug. 3

  • 7 AM - 4 PM: Car Wash Open
  • 9 AM - 3 PM: Registration Check-in
  • 8 AM - 5 PM: Vendor Area Open
  • 8 AM - 9 AM: Auto-X Registration & Driver Meeting
  • 9 AM - 4 PM: Auto-X Course Open
  • 10 AM - 4 PM: Long Course Group Ride
  • 2 PM - 4 PM: Short Course Group Ride
  • 7 PM - 9 PM: Social Gathering at Doc's Roadhouse, Cheeky Monk, etc. (TENTATIVE)
  • 9 PM - 11 PM: Outdoor Movie at Winter Park Resort

Saturday, Aug. 4

  • 9 AM - 3 PM: Registration Check-in

  • 9 AM - 10 AM: NUF! Car Show Line-Up
  • 10 AM - 2 PM: NUF! Car Show in The Village at Winter Park Resort
  • 10 AM - 4 PM: Long Course Group Ride

  • 8 AM - 11 AM: Coffee/doughnuts in Registration Check-in or Parking Garage Area
  • 11 AM: Group Ride to Idaho Springs (lunch)
